Hi! I'm: Rhianna @RhiRhiCooper of @VidaKush
I'm a: Designer/Photographer/Stylist
I'm a: Libra
I live in: Venice
My fav spot in LA is: Coral Canyon in Malibu
A brand I'm really diggin right now is: @NomadicStore from Australia
I think the babe with the best style is: AnnMarie Hoang @mstr_of_disguise
Song I can't get out of my head today is: anything by Kali Uchis!
What inspired her to start:
My career - definitely my mom. She's had a jewelry line for like 15 years, so I grew up working for her, working in the industry, going to trade shows, kinda just loving everything about fashion. I didn't know I was going to go into the creative end of it at all until later, but it was definitely the start to my whole career in general.
Design wise - definitely contrast. My dad is white and my mom is Indian, so I take a lot of inspiration from where she comes from. She was born in this country called Burma which is a really small country between Cambodia and Bangladesh, kind of a mixture between the Thai influence and the Indian influence. I'm inspired by history. I always romanticize the times past - 60s, 70s, right now I'm really inspired by the Prohibition Era style of the 20s. [I'm also inspired by] LA in general. I went to a school that teaches you Spanish beginning at kindergarten, specifically learning from Mexican teachers, so that always just gave me a love for the Mexican culture and everything that goes along with it. I think that's very representative of LA as well, the entire contrast. My favorite thing is to put a really pretty girl in a random background, like somewhere she shouldn't be.
Her advice to you:
The most important things are consistency and working hard. I think that's always been my strongest quality, how hard I'm willing to work. Just waking up every day focusing on what you want to do, going to sleep focusing on what you want to do, staying consistent.
P.S. Did you know? VidaKush is having a pop up and personal styling session at The Suguaro Palm Springs during Coachella weekend 1!
